"Vattey and I set off for the psarkrom local market, the wholesalers! We bought mackerel, soy sauce, fish sauce, noodles, sugar, sweet milk, orange juice, coffee, and soap. We had already arranged to have 200 kegs of rice bagged into 20 kg lots. I said I would get at tuk tuk back to the hotel with all the goods but Vattey said no we were big customers and they would deliver.

The owner of my hotel, was here and he helped us unload. Sovann arrived
soon after and we packed it all up in his tuk tuk. On the way out to Kok beng we stopped on. The side of the road, I asked what is going on? They explained in would be unseemly to unpack it in front of others so we would do it here. At first I was unhappy but then their thoughtfulness kicked in and my admiration grew.

So on the side of the road we sorted. One woman stopped to buy something! Another young man stopped and helped us. We gave him two miserable sachets of coffee for his kindness. Sovann explained to me that the lady with one leg, who lived across the road in what looked like a tumble down bus shelter had nothing so he gave the rest of the leftovers to her. The thoughtfulness by these people is unbelievable. On our return her fire was burning and there were some good smells coming my way. I will return with some sauces and rice for her.

We then headed on to Kok beng school. We waited for all to arrive and yes another lady with one leg had walked there. The village elder was there to supervise. There was so much fun and laughter and happiness, that I was so grateful to be a part of.

One man tried to borrow a shirt to be presented with his gifts, I said no don’t worry, great to see such a fine chest, more laughter. Lots of hugs and blessings for all of those dear kind people who support growing Cambodia.
