Oroluos
Oroluos school is located approximately 35 kilometres from Siem Reap, near the main town of Dom Dek. Funds raised by the Phillip Island community were used to construct the first classroom in December 2012. On December 12 more than 350 children turned up for English lessons ! Since this time more buildings have been added to cope with the demand from students wanting to learn English with 4 local teachers now at the school.
The manager of Oroluos is Sopheak who had previously established his own NGO at Angkrong Village near Siem Reap. Sopheakâs experience has been invaluable in establishing and running Oroluos. He is fully aware that it is vitally important for as many Cambodian children and adults as possible to have access to educational opportunities.
